Mission & History
Fishermen’s Finest: A Team of Excellence.
Corporate Mission
We have a rich tradition in the development of sustainable seafood and in support of the precautionary resource management programs developed by our industry and the North Pacific Fisheries Management Council. We are committed to being good stewards of our nation’s resources – a responsibility which supports our employees, coastal communities and seafood consumers around the world.
Company History
Fishermen’s Finest dates back to 1967, as North Pacific Fishing (current owner of the American No.1) entered the North Pacific King Crab fishery. The company grew over the years and was involved in all areas of king and tanner crab fishing as well as trawling off the coast of Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. In 1986, the company acquired the American No.1, a combination crab catcher processor, dragger and converted her as the pioneer multi species factory trawler of the North Pacific. The company ventured into freezer longliners in the 1990’s and acquired the F/T U.S. Intrepid in 1997. While the company divested of the longliners in 2003, The US Intrepid (U.S. Fishing, LLC) and American No.1 (North Pacific Fishing, Inc.) lead their sector in the Amendment 80 fisheries of the Bering Sea Aleutian Islands as well as the Gulf of Alaska offshore trawl fisheries. The vessels and our Seattle based management team fall under the management of Fishermen’s Finest, Inc.
