Joel attended an Employment Informational Meeting in Seward Alaska on June 28, 2010, at AVTEC - Alaska Vocational Technical Center. He joined the US INTREPID shortly thereafter as a fish processor and stayed in that position for a couple of contracts until he was promoted to assistant cook.

Eventually, Joel took on the position of Head Cook/Chief Steward aboard the US Intrepid and has been there ever since. Kristian can tell you firsthand that Joel is a first-class cook and an excellent manager. Eggs benedict on Tuesdays, prime rib on Sundays - he feeds the crew as if they are his family.

Joel was here on Friday, on his way home to New Hampshire, from Kodiak Alaska, after nearly 4 months at sea aboard the US Intrepid. As is our custom at FFI, Joel received a gift from our CEO Ms. Park - a beautiful Omega Seamaster ‘James Bond’ watch (self-winding). It was a great Summer of fishing in the Gulf of Alaska and the watch was the perfect sending home gift. If you see Joel aboard the vessel, in the office or shipyard, please take a minute to thank him for his hard work and dedication to Fishermen’s Finest.
