Fernando Soto 11 Years

Fishermen’s Finest was pleased to honor 11-year (so far) crew, Fernando Soto Del Toro at Fishermen’s Finest MUK this week.

Kristian Uri presents Fernando with his 10 year Omega Seamaster watch - a gift from Ms. Park.

Fernando, originally from Guadalajara Mexico, calls Tukwila, Washington home - home that is when he’s not aboard the US INTREPID, fishing in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.

Fernando attended an Employment Informational Meeting in Spokane, Washington on February 2, 2011. He liked what he saw and we liked Fernando and the next decade has come and gone as a member of the #FFamily aboard the US INTREPID.

He started out as a fish processor but it became clear very quickly that he had an eye for sizing/grading fish. From a quality and productivity standpoint, fish sizer/grader is one of the most important jobs on the boat. Fast paced and you either have it or you do not - it’s a tough position to learn.

When Fernando is not at home - either aboard the vessel or in Tukwila, he is a world traveler. Adventures are the best way to learn and from Fernando’s career with Fishermen’s Finest and his traveling, Fernando has learned a lot.

As is customary at Fishermen’s Finest, Fernando was presented his 10-year Omega Seamaster ‘James Bond’ watch, a gift from CEO Ms. Park, at Fishermen’s Finest MUK - our Mukilteo Washington warehouse and former pandemic operations headquarters. While here to receive his watch, he joined the rest of the US INTREPID crew to have their annual hearing testing and pre-voyage COVID tests.

Good people are the key to our success and Fernando is a prime example of what you can accomplish with hard work, dedication, and a positive outlook. If you see Fernando in Port, at the office, warehouse, or shipyard, please take a moment and thank him for a job well done. We’re glad he’s part of the #FFamily and proud to call him #FishFinest.
