Monty Fountain 20 Years
On Thursday, January 9, 2025, Fishermen’s Finest gathered at our Kirkland Headquarters and honored Monty Fountain for 20 years of service to Fishermen’s Finest. “Monty can do it all - from fish processor, to cook, chief steward, oiler, and more.”
On October 2, 2002, Monty Fountain came to work for Fishermen’s Finest. He started as a fish processing tech on the U.S. INTREPID and also did a contract on the U.S. LIBERATOR (freezer-longliner) that year. For the next three years, Monty worked his way through the factory and when the opportunity came for him to work as Cook, he started to work part-time in the galley. In 2006, he went full time in the galley, achieving Chief Steward rank through 2018 on the US INTREPID and two years on AMERICA’S FINEST through 2020. He has three years under his belt as an Oiler as well aboard AMERICAS FINEST through 2023. Back to US INTREPID now, where it all started and he’s Chief Steward.
10 years ago, Kristian Uri tracked down Monty at Raven House in Unalaska and presented him with his 10-year watch, pictured below with Chief Engineer and 25-year Fishermen’s Finest Crew, Greg Sharp. Related: 10-Year Crew
