Lunar New Year 2024

The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, follows moon cycles, and signifies the start of a new lunar calendar, heralding the advent of spring.

This year, the Year of the Dragon commences on February 10, and billions across the globe will celebrate it on the evening of the second new moon after the winter solstice.

Fishermen’s Finest has a rich history of celebrating Chinese or Lunar New Year. On January 9, 2012, Ms. Park proclaimed at her President’s Address at the start of the fishing season in Seattle’s Fishermen’s Terminal, ‘We are Dragon people.’

While the Dragon is the only legendary animal in the 12-year cycle of animals in the Chinese Zodiac, it is known as a diligent, kind animal and a deliverer of good fortune.
